Book Review - Chasing Lincoln's Killer

This fast paced thriller based on many historical sources follows the story of John Wilkes Booth. In the beginning of the story it show Booth’s reasons and the murder.  Once Booth has committed the murder the story goes to the 12 day chase from Booth. The story and the characters are all true none of the are made up. Booth runs through swamps, rivers, forests and fields of Maryland and Virginia.

The book is less than 200 pages but is still a good read. You will learn tons from this educational novel. You will learn much you did not know about Lincoln's murder like that there was 2 attempted murders that night. The only way Booth was caught was betrayal from a friend who just wanted the money. You will be sad there is not more when you reach the end of this book.

Book Review - Spirited Away

Spirited Away is about a girl who is moving. On her way to her new house her dad decides to take a way he thinks will lead them to their new house quicker. Instead of taking them to their new house it takes them to an abandoned train station, when Chihiro’s parents smell food they go and look for a restaurant hoping the place is not fully abandoned. Chihiro is freaked out about her parents stealing the food and tries to make her way back to the car only to be faced with a river where a field used to be. When she goes back to tell her parents she finds them but they have turned into pigs from eating the food they had stolen. She meets another human who is willing to help her from all the spirits in the weird realm.

I personally really liked the book, even though it was only the first one in the series. It was very well illustrated which made it more intriguing. It was definitely not a cliche, it was sort of strange in the pictures but it added to the story to make it original. I would definitely read the other books and watch the movie. Overall it was a really good book.

Book Review - The Magician's Elephant

The Magician’s Elephant is a book by Kate Dicamillo.  It is very mysterious and adventurous.  The main characters are Peter Augustus Duchene, and his guardian, Vilna Lutz. Another character is the elephant that the magician made come through the roof. The setting is in the city of Baltese, which I think is a place in England. The magician’s elephant is definitely very different from other books.

My opinion is that it is a good book for people who have trouble reading or read slowly because it’s very easy to read. It is also very interesting and has a good plot. You can see the hint at the problem in the book, which is the elephant falling through the roof.  There were not a lot of complicated words either.  I rated it a four out of five because of all of the above.  If you have trouble reading, or you’re a slow reader, this is the book for you.

Book Review - Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor

This historical fantasy series is written by the author Rick Riordan. customers have given it a 4.4 out of 5 star rating.
This is a fast paced, funny, and exciting book about the characters Sam, Magnus, Alex, Blitzen, and Hearth. The characters are all related to a norse god or goddess in some way. It mostly takes place in Asgard, Valhalla, and Boston.
The problem in the book is Thor’s hammer was stolen and the world will be taken over by giants. The characters Magnus, Alex, Blitzen, and Hearth were going to have to find a way to get back Thor’s hammer and kill the giants. The book was unique because it taught nonfiction norse mythology but was also a fiction book. I liked this book because I think norse mythology is interesting and i was able to learn it in a fun way.
The author Rick Riordan is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Olympian series, Kane Chronicles, and Heroes of Olympus. He is also the author of a Tres Navarre mystery series for adults which won multiple awards.

Book Review - Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library

Escape From Mr Lemoncello’s Library was one of the best book I have ever read in my opinion. It was a very good book because there was suspense and it kept me very interested. I would recommend this book for anybody that likes a story about contests. The book is not longer than you would want but it isn't short and keeps you occupied for a little while. I also liked it because it was something new that I hadn't seen before.

The story starts of with a guy who loves video games and technology. Then a famous video game maker shows up at his school and invites him to his new million dollar library. They have a contest that’s kind of like a game and whoever wins gets to be appart of his ads and gets paid alot of money. That is why I chose this book for my book review.

Book Review - Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down

The book I am reading is called Diary of a Wimpy kid Double Down. The author is Jeff Kinney. He writes fiction books and they have really good story lines to them. Gregory is the main character a the story because it is in his point of view. The setting of the story is a Greg’s house. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is usually a fast paced book because it will go from one thing to the next quickly. For example, he was at a friend’s party and then the next page was him going home because Rowley needed to go to the bathroom so the mom didn't let them stay a use the family's bathroom. So Greg got mad and said he will never bring Rowley to another fun thing again. The problem of the story was Greg’s mom wouldn’t let him get his way unless he earned it. For example he wanted to go to another party but his mom said not until you do some chores around the house.

I like the author’s writing style because he adds a picture on every page to get the reader to understand what the page is about. I also like the font that the writer uses to write the story because it is easy for me to read the words with that font. I think that this was a very good book because the author had a really good story line to the book. The book was also very good because of the pictures that he put on the pages to help me understand what he was writing about. I would definitely recommend you to read this book.

Book Review - I, Robot

I read “I, Robot” by Isaac Asimov. I liked the book because of these reasons. It was a good prediction of the future (that is today) and I liked the idea of multiple stories about one thing in one book. I liked that the book isn’t like those “shelf of books” books, but all the stories are related to each other. Those were reasons I liked the book.
The following reasons are why I didn’t like it. None of the stories actually referenced each other, even though the setting was the same in almost all of them. Also, in the story “Escape,” Mike and Gregory appeared to be dead. Then they came back to life. Those are reasons I didn’t like it.

Book Review - Spirited Away

Spirited Away is written by: Hayao Miyazaki, and is a fantasy japanese tale. The main character of this book are Chihiro, Haku, Yubaba, Kamaji, and Zeniba. Yubaba and Zeniba are also twin sisters, in the book, Yubaba has the tendency to steal visitors of Spirited Away's names. Where Zeniba is after the golden seal. The setting mostly takes place in the bath house but can be also shown in the boiler room (were Sen first asked for a job) and the steam room.  I think this book overall was very fast paced and exciting. This book definitely had you on the edge of your chair waiting to see what will happen next.

When Sen is driving to her new house they took a wrong turn and was pulled into this old ghost town, at the beginning her parent thought this to be an old rundown amusement park. Sen family were starving and when her parents got pulled away by the smell of fresh food, Sen wisely chose and decide to wait for her food. Her parents end up as pigs while she is swept away by a boy. She is told she might never make it out of this town again and that she must go persuade Kamaji to give her a job. She must find a way to remember her name or else she will be stuck there forever. This book is cool because you read bottom, top, left, and right. Also it is only pictures and captions, making it a graphic novel. I would give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I would also recommend this book to others (especially for thought who don't like to read as much but enjoys a good read).

Book Review - Farenheit 451

Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 is a young adult science fiction novel written in 1950. The main character Guy Montag is a fireman. However, being a fireman in this book is different than being a fireman now. In this book, a fireman is someone who burns down houses that contain books. One day he meets a girl named Clarisse. She is not like most people, but Montag accepts her. She likes to think about the meaning of life and why things are the way that they are. Everyone else just watches television instead of using their brains to think about anything. Guy starts thinking as well. At one point, he had stolen some books because he was curious about what books contained. He hid them in his house because he would be arrested and have his house burned down with the books in it. Mr. Montag wants to read the books that he stole. Unfortunately, the fire chief finds out that Guy has books. That makes Montag have to run for his life. Eventually, he finds a group of wanderers who live a nomadic lifestyle. Each of them have parts of books memorized so that they can keep famous literature from dying out completely. This group of people have memorized books so that they won’t get arrested for owning books. The book ends with the hope that owning books will be legal again, and the wanderers can write down literature to stop it from disappearing forever.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. It was action packed and exciting when Montag was running from the police. I would give it a five-star rating for science fiction. What I thought was unique about this book was that it had many good quotes. One of them was “‘I don’t talk things, sir,’ said Faber. ‘I talk the meaning of things. I sit here and know I’m alive.’” (page 75.) Another quote was “Those who don’t build must burn.” (page 89.) What I find impressive is how he was, in a way, able to predict the future. Today, we don’t read as much traditional literature as we used to. We are also starting to get addicted to electronics, as Mr. Bradbury described in this book.

Book Review - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was written by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne. It is the eighth installment in the Harry Potter series. Its main characters are Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. They steal a Time-Turner and go back in time to try and save Cedric Diggory (At least 4 times.), but end up with bad results (Voldemort doesn't die in the Battle of Hogwarts). They get stuck in time and Harry, Ginny, Draco, Ron, and Hermione have to go back and save them. In the end history is not altered.

I thought the book was great, even if it was a little hard to follow (It is written as a play script.). The plot was had a lot of unexpected twists and turns, (SPOILER ALERT) like when Delphi turns on Albus and Scorpius and reveals herself as the daughter of Voldemort. The book is kind of confusing when it repeats the same scenario (The first task in the Triwizard Cup.). I would have to rate it a solid 10/10, but I would love to see it as an actual book.

Book Review - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a twisted version of Pride and Prejudice, a book written originally by Jane Austen. However, Seth Grahame-Smith added Zombies to the plot. The genre of this book is horror as well as romance and I would give it a rating of three and a half stars out of five. This story takes place in an English village called Meryton and is chiefly about two characters, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. In this book, there is a strange plague spreading through England, bringing the dead back to life.

The plot of this book differed because it is a twist on classic literature. At sometimes, the story was dull and boring because the characters were all sitting around talking to each other. On the other hand, when Elizabeth was fighting people and zombies, it was exciting. Also, there was the occasional unexpected occurrence. The perspectives of this book changed so it gave you multiple perspectives on the same topic. I would recommend this book for people who enjoy exciting fighting scenes and romance, but don’t mind reading long dialogues between multiple characters.

Book Review - Sisters

This book is about an older sister and a younger sister that try to stop arguing because they’re worried about their parents.  They get into arguments when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. This book by Raina Telegmanger is a book recommended for siblings because its shows that siblings can work together and is good for laughs. This autobiography was very nicely written and had nice settings (home). Problem : the reason they are worried about their parents is because another baby boy is on the way.

The plot is interchanging and interesting. Sibling rivalry is the main aspect that turns into love. Main characters: Raina, Amara, dad, mom. Amara is the youngest sister and Raina is the eldest. This book is a graphic novel that is favored by many.

Book Review - Series of Unfortunate Events

I read the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. It is about three kids that are getting adopted. Their mom and dad died in a house fire and they have been moved around to to different homes due  to Count Olaf.  Count Olaf is a bad man that wants to steal the kids fortune. They went to their new home and lived with a lady and her name was Aunt Josephine. She was almost afraid of everything. They met a man that was named Captain Sham but to soon find out he was really Count Olaf. One day, the kids found a note and it was from Aunt Josephine .It basically said,  I am going to kill myself and leave you in the hands of Captain Sham. They found out that Aunt Josephine faked her death because one day Captain Sham (Count Olaf) called her and said that if you don't fake your death and run away and leave the kids in care of me, I will kill you. ( he also explained he was Count Olaf).  So doing as what Count Olaf said, Aunt Josephine threw a chair out the window and ran out of the house and went far away to a cave. Aunt Josephine put clues in the note to tell the kids where she was. They went to the cave and got Aunt Josephine and sailed back across the lake (it was during a hurricane).  If you eat right before you get in the lake, leeches will try to eat you!!!!!. Aunt Josephine ate right before going on the boat and the leeches started to sink the boat. Then Captain Sham (Count Olaf ) came in his boat and picked them up ,and that's when he threw Aunt Josephine in the lake and the leeches ate her. When the kids got back they tried to tell Mr. Poe,  the man that does the adoption papers , that Aunt Josephine was  alive  and that Captain Sham is Count Olaf and he killed her. Before Mr. Poe could call the police, he was already gone.

This is a fantastic book and the books keep getting better and better. I rate this book a 10/10 and the series.  I think this book is good for almost any ages. It has great adventures and after each chapter it leaves you wondering. I would encourage everyone to read the series or even watch the shows. (FYI on netflix)

Book Review - Diary of a Wimpy Kid

The book is about Greg Heffley who is trying to survive middle school. It's always great to see the story from his side. It was fun to read this book because I'm so much different from the main character which made seeing the story from his side even better. It is a fast-paced book it can go from one day to another day in a couple of paragraphs. My favorite part was when those teenagers and made them eat cheese, well only Rowley.
I find it funny that Greg does all these crappy things to Rowley and he still thinks he's the good guy. Greg thinks when he's older he's going to have everything turned out just his way. The only reason he's writing in this diary is because he doesn't want to answer to the public when they ask him questions Because he thinks he's going to go up rich and famous. My opinion on the book is that you will love the main character's sense of humor. You should definitely read this move you never get tired of reading it.

Book Review - Winter

Winter is the last book in the Lunar Chronicles Series written by Marissa Meyer. I give it a 4.5 star rating because it’s slow in some parts and only had a little bit of action in the middle of the book. Most of the main action was at the very end of the book.

The main characters in the book are Cinder, Winter, Scarlett, Thorne, Prince Kai, Levana, and Wolf. The story takes place mainly on Luna, the Earth’s moon, where evil Queen Levana rules the Lunars. The ending is exciting and interesting but overall the plot of book was slow with very little climax.

Winter is all about Cinder vs Queen Levana as Cinder tries to stop the a war between the Lunars and Earthlings. The book kept switching perspectives between the main characters, telling different parts and sides of the story. I really liked that I could understand what everyone was thinking and feeling. I thought that Winter was a good book because it wrapped up the series nicely even though it didn’t have a lot of action until the end. Overall I thought it was a great book with a good plot even if it was a little slow at times.

Book Review - Courage to Soar

I read the book Courage to Soar. The author of the book is four-time world gymnastics champion, Simone Biles, who  co-authored it with Mary Lou Retton. The genre of the book is an autobiography. The main characters are Simone Biles, Aimee (Simone’s gym coach), Simone’s mom, Simone’s dad, and her sister, Adria. The book takes place in Texas, Bannon's Gym, her school, and,at the end of the book, Rio. The plot made me think anything is possible if you put your heart to it.

Although Simone worked very hard, she did not make the elite team at first. She kept trying and eventually made the team. She  went on the win gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics. One of the unique things about the book was that Simone was telling the story. I thought that the book was very inspiring and fascinating.

Book Review - Red Queen

I did Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard for my report because it was considered a great book by my classmates. This is a science fiction book. I would rate it 100 out of 5 stars. This book takes place in the Kingdom of Norta under the rule of King Tiberias.

The plot was slow paced until it starts hurdling at you. Also, it has a few slow secrets that make the plot thicken.  This book kept me on my toes for the whole book.

Mare’s world is divided into silvers with superpowers and rebellious rebelling reds.  This book has many italics for important proper nouns. This book is in Mare’s point of view. Mare is the main character followed by the evil queen and prince.

This book is one I couldn't put down I just loved and coming from a 6th grade boy expressing this love for a book that only read it because he had to is crazy.

Book Review - Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asguard: The Hammer of Thor

Magnus Chase  and the Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor is the second installment in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series. Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor is written by Rick Riordan. The main characters are Sam, Magnus, Hearthstone, Blitzen, and Alex. The book has lots of different setting such as Hotel Valhalla Loki's prison, Midgard, Asgard, Alfheim, and Jotunheim.
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor is a fast-paced, exciting, and suspenseful book that you should totally read. Everything starts out which Sam having to run off in the middle of a conversation and before for you know a new child of Loki is introduced and Sam is in an arranged marriage she never asked for. This book isn't like most books I've read, the character interaction is realistic and there's even a Percy Jackson reference. I can't wait for the next book in the series and in conclusion I think you should read Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor.

Book Review - Spy School

I read Spy School by Stuart Gibbs. The genre is mystery. I rate it 10 out of 10.

The main characters are Ben Ripley, Murray, Chip, Erica, Alexander, and Zoe. The setting is a CIA training school disguised as a old Goth school. The main problem was that murray planted a bomb under the school when a bunch of CIA agents were there  and tried to blow them up.

I thought some parts of the book were cool because there were fake documents with people and places all blacked out. Also the author made it feel like a good person was bad, and a bad person good.

I loved the book. There is nothing to change in my opinion.

Book Review - Winter

The book I read was Winter. Winter was the last book of the Lunar Chronicles by Marrisa Meyer. The genre of this book was a big mix between science fiction, realistic fiction, and fractured fairytales. This book was about all the main characters Cinder, Scarlet, Wolf, Iko, Thorne, Winter, Prince Kai, coming together beat the “villain” Levana. In the beginning of Winter the book starts out in Africa where it soon leads them to New Beijing, The Moon, in space, and in their trusty spaceship the Rampion. I would describe this book as twisting, captivating, futuristic, interesting, dramatic, and well written.
Although Winter is very well written some things are a little to rushed for example they would come up with a plan to defeat Levanna and do that plan too quickly. I really liked how she used different things from the original fairy tales and added them into the story. For example when Winter  [her step daughter] was poisoned you could really make the connection to Snow White.  In my opinion  my favorite detail that she included was the twisted fairytales. This book wrapped up the series pretty well, but I think it would had been better if she added an epilogue so you can tell what it would be like  few years after the battle.

Book Review - Ashes

The author of the book Ashes is Kathryn Lasky. Ashes is about the holocaust. Gaby, her family, and relatives are moving from their home because the brown shirts or the Nazi followers were moving in on their town. The book is fast paced, and very entertaining. The book Ashes has some complicated lines, it will get very confusing but it gets better.

The book is very good. I thought that it was going to be boring but it was pretty good. The book was over dramatic in the way of they made a big deal about the smallest details. I wouldn't read the second book but this copy was really good. I would suggest this book if you want a thrilling, dramatic, and very cliffhanging novel. This book was good to me because I persevered through the boring and the cool parts came out.

Book Review - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

This wonderful series is about the boy who lived and what his life is like. It is full of adventures and fun for everyone.I would be surprised if someone didn't like this series. Let us get into what book four is about. Harry Potter goes to quidditch with Hermione and the Weasleys for the last two weeks of summer vacation. At the quidditch match (Ireland V.S Bulgaria) they run into some unexpected trouble when they see Lord Voldemort's sign in the sky.   Everyone gets scared and scrambles to get to safety. Later on during Harry’s  4th year at Hogwarts he meets a new teacher named Mad Eye Moody. It turns out  he enters Harry into the Goblet of Fire tournament so Harry must compete in the three tasks. Later on they find out it is not the real Mad Eye Moody but it is one of Lord Voldemort’s followers/servants.

My Opinions:
I liked this book. It is full of mysteries and it made me want to go to school at Hogwarts. Since this series has characters about my age I can understand it more. There is  one more detail that J.K Rowling could include though and that is what the Dursleys are up to while Harry Potter is at School. But I think this book gets about a 4.5 out of 5 star rating for me.

Book Review - Projekt 1065

I read the book Progekt 1065 by Alan Gratz. If you are into WW 2 than this would be a good book for you. It is set in Germany while Hitler was in power. The main characters are Da, Ma, Michael, Fritz, and Simon. The book has a lot of action so I give it a 100%.

The problem in this book was war and Hitler. The book has short chapters to keep you interested. The book had cliffhangers  so you feel like you have to keep on reading. This book is historical fiction because it is not a true story. The story gives you facts about WW 2 and Hitler.

Book Review - A Dog's Purpose

I read A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron. It was a stunning realistic fiction book that I rate a 4.9 out of 5. In the story you will meet Bailey, who's the dog, Ethan, Hannah, and more memorable characters. This is a present day, hard to put down, heartfelt novel that will leave your eyes watering. But at times you might feel lost, or waiting on the edge of your seat for to long, but it always picks back up.

This book has an interesting point of view, letting you stand in the shoes (or paws) of a adorable, and occasionally clueless pup. This book explored an interesting topic, were the dog was reborn until he (and sometimes she) found his purpose. This book has dashes of comedy, romance (puppy love!), and even action! Prepare the tissue box because this is a beautiful, heartfelt page turner that will leave you begging for more. Me, and many others who have read this novel, will never look a dogs the same way again.

Book Review - World War II: An Interactive History Adventure

World War II was a brutal time in Germany and many places in Europe. The Book “World War II” was telling  about many World War II battles and it also tells many ways how you could die in Europe. If you were in World War II the German soldiers were everywhere. They knocked down doors to get Jews to send them to Concentration Camps and sometimes kill them. Also in the book, it said how you could die or the consequences of bad decisions because you are pretending to be a soldier. The missions were brutal and you would never want to live in Europe during World War II.

I really think people should read this book because it's fun to read and it gives lots of information on World War II and the battles and consequences. The book is a choose your adventure book so I think it would be great for kids and it will give them some background info on World War II. For people who have to learn about battles or want to know how you can die in World War II, this would be a smart choice to read this book. I thought the book was fascinating and can be a fun game to play. So pick up this book and start your adventure!

Book Review - Spirit Animals

I read “Spirit Animals: Wild Born” by Brandon Mull. In this story the main characters were Conor, Abeke, Meilin, Rollan, Shane, Uraza, and Briggan. The plot of the story was very exciting and lots of action scenes that were shocking. The setting takes place in the world of Erdas. The problem is that there is a dark evil group of people trying to destroy everything. In the layout of this book there is a lot of paragraphs and they are in chapters.

I think the book was good and I liked the fight scenes. I also liked all the foreign names they used. I think the paragraphs were a little too short though. If i had to give it a rating i’d give it a 9/10. I liked how there were about six paragraphs on each page.

Book Review - Rules

The book that I read is Rules by Cynthia Lord. The genre is Children's Literature. I rate this book 5/5 stars. Some main characters in this book are Catherine, Jason, and David. The setting is mostly at Catherine's house, town/school, and the therapy office.

Some adjectives that describe the plot of this book are exciting, interesting, funny, sad, and happy. The problem in this book is that a guy named David has autism and he needs new words in his word binder. His word binder lets him point at the word he would like to say. You should read this book because it shows how hard some people’s lives are and how hard it is to have a lot of responsibilities.

Book Review - Ghosts

The book that I read is called Ghosts. The author is named Raina Telgemeier. It is a graphic novel. I would give it a 8-10. The two main characters are Maya and Cat.

The setting is Bahia De La Luna. If I could describe the book in three words it would exciting, mysterious, and interesting. The problem is that Maya has Cystic Fibrosis and Cat is afraid of ghosts and fitting in. Two things in the book that I thought were cool are that there was a nice ghost and instead of chapters they used months. I also really like how Raina captures what actually happens in real life. Also, how it grows with Cat’s growth and her feelings. I think that this book is geared towards olders kids because it is mostly about death and getting through tough times. If you like emotional, heart touching books, this might be for you.

Book Review - The Courage to Soar

The Courage To Soar by Simone Biles book review! Overall I would give this book a rating of four out of five stars, and this book fits into the genre non-fiction. The most important characters in this book are, of course, Simone Biles, Adria BIles (Sister), Aimee Boorman (Coach), Nellie & Ronald Biles (Parents/Grandparents). I think this book went by a little slowly. Some  of the most important events were very undetailed. Then, there would be about a sentence of suspense, and draws you in, and then go back to being slow.
When Simone was little, her mother didn’t take good care of her, so she was put into foster care. A unique feature about this book that I liked was that it had real photographs. They had pictures of Simone when she was little, and her through the years. I enjoyed the book in the beginning, but it started to get boring near the end. It was just a bunch of gymnastics meets that were kind of undetailed. I really liked the theme of the book, which was to follow your dreams! I would recommend this book if you are a gymnastics fan!

Book Review - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

I read the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. This book is fiction and I give it a 4.5 rating. The main characters are Harry, Ron, Hermione, and some of the Hogwarts teachers. This book to me is a little slow paced since it is the first book but it’s still interesting, exciting, mysterious, and makes you want to read the next chapter. Even though I don’t like reading long books, this book kept me in to the book and wanting to read it more.

In this book someone may or may not be trying to steal something very special. Some unique things in this book is the point of view. In this case the point of view is Harry’s but the book also shows what other people think and see and what they thought of Harry. Since this book is mysterious, it make me want to read the whole series and watch the movies too. Overall, this book is very good and I think you should read it.

Book Review - Killer Pizza

The book I read is called Killer Pizza and the author is Greg Taylor. The main characters of Killer Pizza are Toby, Annabel, Strobe, Steve, and Harvey. The main settings of the book are Killer Pizza (the restaurant), MCO (Monster Combat Officer) Training Arena, Hidden Hills, and the forest. The way I would describe the book is it is exciting, fast paced, interesting, and twisting.

The problem of the book is there is a pack of Guttata (monsters) attacking Hidden Hills, and the MCO’s job is to defeat the Alpha Guttata and the rest will flee. What is unique about the book is the layout because all the events make sense and are in the correct order. I loved the book because I liked the twist in the beginning instead of towards the end. I think that other kids should read the book if they are interested in adventure and excitement.

Book Review - Perfect

In the book Perfect by Natasha Friend there are two main characters throughout the story, their names are Isabelle and Ashley. There was a couple of different settings in this book: their school, Ashley's house, Isabelle's house, and the group they both went to. When I was reading this book I felt sad whenever they talked about how sad Isabelle's mom is since her dad died. At some parts it was funny, for example when Ashley and Isabelle hung out, their conversations are interesting and sometimes funny, but overall I felt excited to read more.

The big main problem that caused a lot of things in this book was that Isabelle's dad died and ever since that her mom never acted the same. In the book the author made sure to include the point of view from Isabelle, and added all her extra thoughts she had. I think that you should read this book because it shows you how to deal with some hard stuff, and to try new stuff. This book also shows you that anyone could be your friend, and sometimes people aren't as mean as people say they are or how they look. So I give this book a 9 out of 10. It was a great book to read.

Book Review - Ashes

Ashes by Laurie Halse Anderson was a historical fiction book and I thought it was pretty good.  The characters like Curzon, Aberdeen, and Isabel are brave.  Others like Ruth and the Hallahans were pretty easy going.  They are in the middle of the Revolutionary War.  Isabel wants to live a free life with Ruth but with the war they might not be able to.
Isabel and Curzon run from officers and are trying to find Isabel’s sister Ruth.  When they stumble upon the Hallahans Isabel's dreams come true.  Now she, Aberdeen, Ruth, and Curzon must find a way through the Revolutionary War.  They will face challenges and hardships ahead and they might even find something secretive going on with Aberdeen.  Will they make it?  Read to find out what happens next!
